Owen’s Playground, the inclusive playground in Phase I of construction on Weaver Road, has a total fundraising goal of $350,000. Fundraisers are now poised to take a big leap toward that goal with a new pledge from an anonymous donor of a matching $50,000 gift. Whatever they raise through the One Call for All Red Envelope campaign by November 30 will be doubled, up to $50K.
The organization announced that they’ve had some big support this year, the majority of which has come in the form of generous, small contributions, such as proceeds from lemonade stands, gifts of birthday money, and amounts of $25, $50 and $100. Last week, Glam Gals presented a check to the playground in the amount of $1,300. The Bainbridge Open at Wing Point raised more than $2,000. The Summer “Pennies for Play” outreach campaign generated more than $3,000.
To make a donation, you can use the OCFA red envelope, which will be coming in the mail soon. You can also make a donation through the One Call for All website (select “Owen’s Playground”). You can also mail your donation directly to the Bainbridge Island Parks Foundation (note in memo “Owen’s Playground”) at BIPF, P.O. Box 11127, Bainbridge Island, WA, 98110.
All donors at the $250, $500, and $1,500 levels will be recognized with a starfish ($250), salmon ($500), or giant octopus ($1,500) on the donor path at Owen’s Playground.
